We're getting married in the Bahamas next July. The dates, where to stay, and what to do about your passport are all below.

The long version, from the beginning.

Four years between a dating app in Norman and a beach in Nassau. Here is what happened in between.

  1. September 2022

    We matched on Hinge.

    These are the photos we matched on. Our first date was September 26, 2022, at the Outback Steakhouse in Norman, Oklahoma.

    Then we just kept going out.

    He asked her to be his girlfriend.

    Our first Valentine's Day.

    One year, back where it started.

    Our first vacation.

    A week at Carillon Beach, Florida.

  7. Thanksgiving 2024

    Two years, celebrated late.

    Elise had started her OTD program in Texas by then, so two years waited for a cabin weekend over Thanksgiving.

  8. August 2025

    Back to Carillon Beach.

    Archie.

    Our golden retriever, and the best Valentine's Day gift either of us has managed so far.

    He got down on one knee.

Saturday, July 24 through Monday, July 26, 2027. The ceremony sits in the middle of a three-day weekend, and the full schedule comes with your invitation.

Sandals Royal Bahamian, on Cable Beach in Nassau. It is an all-inclusive beachfront resort, so once you land, everything for the weekend is on one property.

Fly into Nassau, airport code NAS. It is a short, direct flight from most of the US, and about ten minutes from the resort. You will need a valid passport, so if yours has lapsed, start the renewal now.

We recommend staying with us at Sandals Royal Bahamian from Saturday, July 24 through Tuesday, July 27. The resort requires a minimum three-night stay. You are welcome to stay elsewhere in Nassau, but off-resort guests may attend the ceremony only; the reception is reserved for guests staying at Sandals Royal Bahamian.
